காதலும் கோபமும்..

கடல் தாண்டி உலக உருண்டையின் மறு மூலையில் இயங்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் ஒரு இதயம் செவி வழி வரும் ஒரு குரலின் ஒலியால் அதிவேகமாக இயங்க துடிக்கிறது. தேசம் விட்டு தேசம் வந்தாலும் கோபம் எப்படியோ கொப்பளித்து வந்து விடுகிறது. அது சொல்லில் கலந்து சொல்லாமல் சூடேற்றிவிடுகிறது. மூச்சில் வரும் சூடு மூக்கையே புண்ணாக்கி விடும் போல அவ்வளவு கோபம். காதல் வந்த இதயத்தில் காமம் வருவது இயல்பு ஆனால் கோபம் எங்கிருந்து வந்தது? இதை அக்கறை என்றோ ஆதங்கம் என்றோ சொல்லி பசப்புவது காலங்காலங்காமாக் நடந்து வரும் சப்பை கட்டு. கோபத்தையும் காதலையும் சிண்டு முடித்து போட ஏனோ எனக்கு இப்போது பிடிக்க வில்லை. கத்தவேண்டும் எனத்தோன்றியது கத்தி விட்டேன். காதலுக்கு கண் இல்லை, செவி இல்லை, மூளையும் இல்லை. இதயத்தை கொடுத்துவிட்டு இல்லாத ஒன்றை இயங்க செய்வது கருமை நிறைந்த இருளில் கண்ணை மூடிக்கொள்வது போல. கனல் போன்ற வார்தைகளை கக்கியவுடன் மனதை வெற்றிடம் சூழ்ந்து கொள்கிறது. உறவின் சுமை உள்ளத்தை ஊமையாக்கியது - இது பல இந்தியப் பெண்களுக்கு பொருந்தும். சுடுகாட்டில் வீசும் தென்றலை உணரமுடியாது. அப்போது உள்ளம் சூழ் நிலை கைதியாகி இருக்கும். ஒரு நொடிப் பொழுதில் இதனிடமா நாம் மாட்டிக் கொண்டோம் என்ற எண்ணம் மின்னல்லாய் வந்து போனால் இரு உள்ளமும் அமைதி இழக்கின்றது. உடலின் இயக்கமும் எண்ணத்தின் மயக்கமும் இணைந்து நளினப்படுவது காதல் என்னும் மகரந்த நறுமணத்தினால்.
மனதின் ஏற்ற இறக்கத்திற்கு ஏற்றாற்போல மனிதன் வாழ்கையும் பார்க்கிறான். உருவக படுத்தக்கூடிய வேதனைகளை இறைவன் சிலருக்கு வழங்கி இருக்கிறான் – புண்ணியாவான்கள்!. உருவமில்லா வேதனைகளை சுமக்கும் மனித மனங்களை என்னவென்று சொல்ல – பாவிகள்! என்றா? சிரிப்பை உதட்டில் ஒட்டவைத்து அழும் நீரை ஆழ்மனதுள் வைத்து புதைத்து வெம்பி வெதும்பும் உயிர்கள் கணக்கில் அடங்கா.!
பல நாள் கழித்து கோபம் மறந்து போய் பேசப் போனால் குரலை கேட்டவுடன் அருகில் வந்து ஒட்டிக் கொள்கிறது கோபம். வாழ நினைத்து இறக்கத்துடிக்கும் காதல் கொண்டவர்கள்தான் நம் நாட்டில் ஏராளம். காதலுக்குள் கோபமும், கோபத்திற்குள் காதலும், தொண்டைக்குள் அடைப்பட்ட என்றும் கரையாத சர்க்கரைப் பந்து அதை விழுங்கவும் முடியாது வெளியே துப்பவும் முடியாது. அதன் சுவையாலேயே அதனால் ஏற்படும் வலியை மறந்து வாழ்கிறோம். உறவின் அனலால் உணர்வுகள் வெந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது. உறவுகளின் இறுக்கம் சில நேரத்தில் நமக்கு தெரியாமலே வழி நடத்தும்.

The Mayonnaise Jar

When things in your life seem, almost too much to handle,
When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,
Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly, He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar
And proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students, if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively
filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided,
'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things - family,children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions -
Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, Your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else --The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued, there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,
You will never have room for the things that are important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Play With your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

'Take care of the golf balls first --
The things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled.
'I'm glad you asked'.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'

இருட்டில் இயங்கும் மனம்

இரவு நேர இருளில் இயங்கும் உலகம் தெரியவில்லை, அதனால் ஏற்படும் ஒலியும் கேட்கவில்லை. ஒளியின் அவசியம் புரிந்தது. இருளை தொட்டு கண்ணுக்கு மை இட்டு கொள்ளலாம் போல ஒரு கருமை. எந்த நிறம் இதில் கலந்தாலும் அது கரைந்து போய்விடும் போல இருந்தது. கண்ணை மூடினாலும் அதே இருள்தான். உறக்கம் பிடிக்கவில்லை. புரண்டு படுத்து படுக்கையை கலைக்க மனம் வரவில்லை. நினைவலை நெஞ்சில் ஓயாது அடித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தது. அதன் ஓசை மட்டும் அடி மனதிலிருந்து சத்தம் எழுப்பிக் கொண்டிருந்தது. செவி பொத்தினாலும் அது சத்தத்தை அதிக படுத்தி பாடாய் படுத்தியது. விளக்கை எழுப்ப விரல் வரவில்லை. கவலை என்னும் உணர்வை உணர்ந்தது மனம். நிறம், மணம் இல்லாமல் இருப்பதுதானே இந்த உணர்வும் உணர்ச்சியும். நினைவு நிழல் போல தொற்றிக் கொண்டது மனதை. உள்ளத்தில் இருக்கும் எழுத்துக்களை கோர்த்தாலும் முடித்து போடாத முத்து மாலையிலிருந்து சிதறும் முத்துக்களாய் வார்த்தைகள் சிதறி போயின. மணலுக்குள் புதையும் பாதமாய் நினைவுக்குள் மூழ்கியது நெஞ்சு. காற்றில் கரையும் மேகங்களாய் என் கனவுகளும் கலைந்தன.

தீபாவளி 2009 - 1

போன வருடம் செலவு செஞ்சது கொசுவர்த்தி சுருள் போல என் மண்டைக்குள் வந்து சென்றது. எப்படி எல்லா பொருள் விலையும் இப்படி டபுள் டபுளா விலை ஏறிடிச்சு?ன்னு.. இது ஒரு தனிமனித பிரச்சனை இல்லை ஒரு சமுதாய பிரச்சனைன்னு ஒரு அசிரீரி சுளீர்னு அறைஞ்ச மாதிரி பட்டுச்சு...
இதெல்லாம் என் பசங்களுக்கு எங்க புரியபோகுது. இன்னும் அதிகமா பட்டாசு வங்கிருக்கலாம்னு குறைப்பட்டுக்கிட்டாங்க. அவனவன் கவலை அவனவனுக்கு..!
இந்த வருடம் இந்தியாவில் இல்லாததால்(!) பட்டாசு இல்லாத தீபாவளியாதான் இருந்தது. பட்ஷ்ணம்.. பலகாரம்.. எல்லாமே ஏட்டுல இருக்கிற ரெஸிப்பியாதான் போச்சு.. காலையில் எழுந்து கங்கா ஸ்னானம் ஆச்சான்னு கேக்க ஆளில்லை. போன்ல யாரோ கேட்டங்க.. தூக்க கலக்கத்துல அதுவும் தெரியல கேட்ட எல்லாத்துக்கும் Objective type பதில்தான் ஆம்/இல்லை சொல்லிட்டு போனை வச்சுட்டு திரும்பவும் தூக்கம்.

தீபாவளி இனிதே நிறைவடைந்தது.

இப்படி சொல்லி இத்தோடு முடிச்சிக்கிறேன்.

தீபாவளின்னாலே பலகாரம்.. பட்ஷணம்.. ஸ்..ஸ்.. நாக்குல எச்சி ஊருது..வருஷத்தில ஒரு முறை எல்லாரும் கூடி கொண்டாடும் ஒரு விழா.. விலைவாசி Complan குடிக்கற குழந்தை கணக்கா ஏறிகிட்டே போகுது ஆனா மக்கள் வெள்ளமும் ரெங்கநாதன் தெருவில் அலைமோதுது.. ஒன்னுமே புரியல! காலை பாலில் தண்ணியயும் தண்ணீரில் பாலையும் கலக்கும் பால் காரன் முதல் சாயங்காலம் கடை போடும் பக்கோடா காரன் வரை Recision பற்றியும் IT பற்றி பேச ஆரம்பித்துவிட்டார்கள்.. இப்படி இருக்கற காலத்துல எங்க வீட்டு HOME Ministerடமிருந்து அறிக்கை வந்தது .. அதை பார்த்து எனக்கு தலை சுற்ற ஆரம்பித்து விட்டது.. அது...பிறவு சொல்றேன்... அடுத்த மடலில்...

Wheat Laddu

Ingredients:
1 cup Wheat Flour
1/4 cup Gram Flour
11/2 cup Sugar Powder
1/4 cup Grated Coconut
1/4 cup Dry Fruit almonds, raisins, kaju etc
1 cup Ghee

Preparation:
1. Heat the ghee.
2. Put both the flours in the heated ghee.
3. When nearly roasted put coconut and sliced dry fruit in the mixture.
4. Now put the ground sugar in the mixture and stir thoroughly.
5. Take off from the heat quickly and make laddus. You may also put the mixture in an oil based thali & make small pieces.



Soan Papdi

Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup Gram Glour
1 1/4 cup Maida
250 gms Ghee
2 1/2 cups Sugar
1 1/2 cup Water
2 tbsp Milk
1/2 tsp Cardamom seeds crushed coarsely
4" squares cut from a thin polythene sheet

Preparation:
1. Sift both flours together.
2. Heat ghee in a heavy saucepan. Add flour mixture and roast on low till light golden. Keep aside to cool a little, stirring occasionally.
3. Prepare syrup simultaneously. Make syrup out of sugar, water and milk. Bring syrup to 2 1/2 thread consistency.
4. Pour at once into the flour mixture. Beat well with a large fork till the mixture forms threadlike flakes.
5. Pour onto a greased surface or thali and roll to 1" thickness lightly. Sprinkle the elaichi and gently press down with palm.
6. Cool, cut into 1" squares, wrap individually into square pieces of thin plastic sheet. Store in an airtight container.



Mushrooms in Onion Gravy
Ingredients :
200 gm Mushrooms
3 Onions
2 Tomatoes, finely chopped or pureed
3 Green chillies, finely chopped
Coriander leaves
Salt as per taste
Red chili powder as per taste
A pinch of garam masala powder
A pinch of cardamom powder
Oil

Preparation :
1. Slice mushrooms, boil them and keep aside.
2. Make a paste of the onions.
3. Heat oil in a wok and add the onion paste; cook till the paste turns golden brown.
4. Add the tomatoes, green chilies, salt and red chilli powder.
5. Cook the tomatoes till the gravy leaves the sides of the wok.
6. Add water if required.
7. Add the mushrooms and cook for a while.
8. Season with garam masala powder, cardamom powder and coriander leaves.




Besan ki Barfi
Ingredients :
Besan 1 kg
Sugar 1 kg
Water 1/2 liter
Ghee 1 kg
For garnishing: Pistas, Almonds

Preparation :
1. Fry besan in ghee on low flame for about 30 mins till it becomes pink and ghee separates.
2. Mix sugar and water into a syrup.
3. Add this syrup to the besan and mix well.
4. Pour this mixture into a greased tray.
5. When it cools cut into cubes and garnish with pistas and almonds.





Karanji
Ingredients :
For Filling:
1 cup grated Dry Coconut
1 cup Powdered Sugar
1 pinch Nutmeg Powder
1 pinch dry Ginger Powder
4 Elaichi
2 tsp Maida
2 tsp Poppy Seeds
2 tbsp Mixed Dry fruit pieces

For Dough:
1 cup maida
1 tsp Ghee
Salt to taste
Warm milk to prepare dough

Preparation :
1. Roast Dry coconut.
2. Roast maida in ghee.
3. Roast poppy seeds.
4. Mix all the above ingredients & grind them.

For Dough:
Mix all the dough ingredients & prepare dough (a little hard).

For Karanji:
1. Make small oval shaped puris from dough.
2. Fill the prepared stuffing inside.
3. Apply some water or milk so that it will seal properly (don't apply too much of water as it will not seal properly).
4. Deep fry it till it becomes brownish colour.
5. Serve it hot or cold.
6. Karanjis can be stored for weeks.





Sesame Seed (Til) - Khoya laddu
Ingredients :
2 cups khoya
1&1/2 cups of coarsely powdered roasted sesame seeds (til)
Powdered sugar to taste
Kesar, chopped almonds and pistas for decoration

Preparation :
1. Roast the khoya on low flame till it is very light golden yellow color.
2. Let is cool for few minutes.
3. Then add coarsely powdered roasted sesame seeds and mix it.
4. Add powdered sugar when the above mixture is luke warm.
5. Mix well and shape into small balls. If the mixture is too hot then the sugar will melt so care has to be taken that mixture should not be hot.
6. Arrange in a plate and decorate with kesar, chopped almonds and pistas.

Method for Making Khoya in Microwave:
1. Take three cups of full cream milk powder in microwave oven proof casserole.
2. Add sufficient water to make a thick paste.
3. Add 2 tablespoon of ghee.
4. Cover with plastic cling film and microwave for 3 minutes with in between stirring. (Time depends on power of Microwave oven.)





GUJIA
Ingredients :
Flour 250 grams
Khoya 500 grams
Raisins a few
Almonds 100 grams (finely chopped)
Cooking oil 3 tablespoon
Water 100 ml
Sugar 250 grams

Preparation :
Mix the oil and flour properly to form a binding consistency of breadcrumbs. Add some water and knead lightly the entire mixture. Make it soft dough and set it aside with a damp cloth covering it. Fry the khoya in cooking oil till it becomes light brown and then mix the sugar in it properly. Add the almonds and raisins, and fry for a few more minutes. Remove from fire and let it cool. Make small thick chapattis out of that kneaded dough. Fill half of the chapatti with the khoya mixture and, rolling it, seal the sides of the chapatti keeping the khoya inside it. Make the sealing look decorated by giving a look of hemming. Deep-fry these gujias until it becomes light golden brown, keeping the flame at low. Take out the gujias on a newspaper and let the oil get soaked. Serve hot or store it in an airtight container for using it on that special day.


MALPUA
Ingredients :
1 cup sugar
1-1/2 cups wheat flour
4 tbsp yogurt or curd
10-15 whole peppercorns
Milk
Water

Preparation :
Make a batter of all of these dry ingredients and the dahi, using 1/2 milk and 1/2 water till it is thick and of pouring consistency, similar to pancake or dosa batter. And whip till smooth. Add the 10 peppercorns. Keep aside and allow it to rise for about two hours.

Heat oil on a medium flame. Drop large ladlefuls into the oil to form circles of 6-8 inches. Typically the dough will sink and line the bottom of the karhai and rise up in the shape of a disc. Fry till golden. Drain and pat off the oil. Serve with cream or garnished with pista. Serves five.

உனக்குள் இருக்கும் இன்பம்.

ரோட்டோரத்தில் ஒரு பயணி கவலையுடன் உட்கார்ந்திருப்பதைப் பார்க்கிறார் முல்லா நஸ்ருத்தீன். “ஏன் கவலையுடன் இருக்கிறீர்?” என்று கேட்கிறார்.

“இந்த உலகத்தில் உள்ள எல்லா செல்வமும் என்னிடம் இருக்கிறது. அதனால் நான் உழைத்துச் சாப்பிட வேண்டிய அவசியமில்லை. ஆனாலும் வாழ்க்கையில் எந்த சுவாரசியமும் இல்லை. சக மனிதர்களும் அலுப்பூட்டுகிறார்கள். எதிலும் அமைதியே இல்லை. நானே எனக்கு எதிரியாகி விட்டேன் என்று தோன்றுகிறது.”

அந்தக் கணமே அந்த மனிதனின் கையிலிருந்த பையை அபகரித்துக் கொண்டு ஓடினார் முல்லா நஸ்ருத்தீன். பயணியால் முல்லாவைக் கண்டு பிடிக்க முடியவில்லை. அந்த இடத்தை விட்டு அகன்ற முல்லா பயணியை அவருடைய பைக்காக நன்றாக அலைய விடுகிறார். அந்தப் பையில்தான் பயணியின் அத்தனை பணமும் பயணச் சீட்டுகளும் இருந்தன. அதெல்லாம் இல்லாவிட்டால் அந்த நாட்டில் அவரைச் சிறையில் தள்ளி விடுவார்கள். பயணி மிகுந்த பதற்றத்துடன் தேடுகிறார். கடைசியில் அவர் பார்க்கக் கூடிய இடத்தில் அந்தப் பையை வைக்கிறார் முல்லா. அந்தப் பையைப் பார்த்ததும்தான் பயணிக்கு உயிரே வருகிறது. உள்ளே இருந்த பொருட்கள் அப்படியே இருக்கின்றன. ஆகாயத்தை நோக்கிக் கையை உயர்த்தி ஆண்டவனுக்கு நன்றி கூறுகிறார் பயணி. அவர் முகத்தில் மிகுந்த சந்தோஷம் உண்டாகிறது.

முல்லா நஸ்ருத்தீன் நினைத்துக் கொண்டார். ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனிடமும் சந்தோஷம் இருக்கிறது. ஆனால் சில மனிதர்கள் அதைத் தொலைத்து விடும்போது மட்டும்தான் தங்களிடம் அந்த சந்தோஷம் இதுவரை இருந்ததையே உணர்கிறார்கள்.

அட எத்தனை நிதர்சன உண்மை.. சந்தோஷமும் சங்கடமும் நமக்குள்ளேதான் உள்ளது அதை கண்டுபிடித்து அறிவது நம் கையில் உள்ளது என்பதை இந்த கதை அருமையாக விளக்கிவிட்டது.
இதை நான் சாருவின் வலை தளத்தில் இருந்துதான் சுட்டேன். இந்த உண்மையை சொன்னதற்காகவாவது அவர் என்னை மன்னிப்பாராக.

Anger - கோபம்

A saint asked his disciples, 'Why do we shout in anger? Why do people shout at each other when they are upset?'

Disciples thought for a while, one of them said, 'Because we lose our calm, we shout for that.'

'But, why to shout when the other person is just next to you?' asked the saint. 'Isn't it possible to speak to him or her with a soft voice? Why do you shout at a person when
you're angry?'

Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the saint. Finally he explained, ‘When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other through that great distance.'

Then the saint asked, 'What happens when two people fall in love? They don't shout at each other but talk softly, why? Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is very small...'

The saint continued, 'When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other and that's all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.'

MORAL: When you argue, do not let your hearts get distant, do not say words that distance each other more, else there will come a day when the distance is so great that you will not find the path to return.

A Love Story

Here is a lovely story I came across, A lovely story - Very Very Touching !!! This story tells us something about LOVE & LIFE. How are expectations can be a mismatch if we are not ready to listen and understand.

My husband is S/W Engineer by profession, I love him for his steady nature and I love the warm feeling when I lean against his broad shoulders.

Two years of courtship and now, five years into marriage, I would have to admit, that I am getting tired of it. The reasons of me loving him before, has now transformed into the cause of all my restlessness.

I am a sentimental woman and extremely sensitive when it comes to a relationship and my feelings. I yearn for the romantic moments,
like a little girl yearning for candy. My husband is my complete opposite; his lack of sensitivity, and the inability of bringing romantic moments into our marriage has disheartened me about LOVE.

One day, I finally decided to tell him my decision, that I wanted a divorce.

"Why?" he asked, shocked.

"I am tired. There are no reasons for everything in the world!" I answered.

Somebody said it right... It`s hard to change a person`s personality, and I guess, I have started losing faith in him.

Looking deep into his eyes I slowly answered: "Here is the question. If you can answer and convince my heart, I will change my mind.

He said: "I will give you your answer tomorrow.... "

My hopes just sank by listening to his response.

I woke up the next morning to find him gone, and saw a piece of paper with his scratchy handwriting underneath a milk glass, on the dining table near the front door, that goes....

My dear, "I would not pick that flower for you, but....please allow me to explain the reasons further.....

This first line was already breaking my heart. I continued reading.

"When you use the computer you always mess up the Software programs, and you cry in front of the screen. I have to save my fingers so that I can help to restore the programs.

You always leave the house keys behind, thus I have to save my legs to rush home to open the door for you.

You love traveling but always lose your way in a new city . I have to save my eyes to show you the way.

You always have the cramps whenever your "good friend" approaches every month. I have to save my palms so that I can calm the cramps in your tummy.

Hi..................................................................

Its another morning..
What the *$#@... Again I have to go to office.

Ohh, this is me… I shouted having a glance on my snap in today’s news paper.
But what the HELL it is doing in the death column??

Strange…

One sec... Let me think, last night when I was going to bed I had a seviour pain in my chest, but I don’t remember anything after that, I think I had a sound sleep.

Its morning now, ohh….. It’s already 10:00 AM, where is my coffee?
I will be late for office and that bastard will get a chance to irritate me.

Where is everyone…??? I screamed.

“I think there is a crowed outside my room, let me check.” I said to myself.

So many people….. Not all of them crying…
But why some of them crying…

WHAT IS THIS??? I m laying there on the floor…

“I AM HERE” … I shouted!!! No one listen.
“LOOK I AM NOT DEAD” … I screamed once again!!! No one is interested in me.
They all were looking me on the bed.

I went back to my bed room.

“Am I dead??” I asked myself.

Where is my wife, my children, my mom-DAD, my friends?

I found them in the next room, all of them were crying… still trying to console each other.

My wife was crying… she was really looking sad.
My little kid was not sure what happened, but he was crying just coz his mom was sad.

How can I go without saying my kid that I really love him, I really do care of him. ??
How can I go without saying my wife that she is really most beautiful and most caring wife in this world..??
How can I go without saying my parents that I m … just because of u??
How can I go without telling my friends that without them perhaps I have done most of the wrong things in my life… thanks for being there always when I need them… and sorry for not being there when they really need me..

I can see a person standing in the corner and trying to hide his tears…
Ohh… he was once my best friend, but a small misunderstanding made us part, and we both have strong enough ego to keep us disconnect.

I went there... And offered him my hand, “Dear friend… I just want to say sorry for everything, we r still best friend, please forgive me.”

No response from other side, what the hell?? He is still preserving his ego, I am saying sorry… even then!!!
I really don’t care for such people.

But one sec…. it seems he is not able to see me!!!! He did not see my extended hand.
My goodness… AM I REALLY DEAD???

I just sat down near ME; I was also feeling like crying…

“OHH ALMIGHTY!!!! PLEASE JUST GIVE ME FEW MORE DAYS…”
I just wasn’t to make my wife, my parents; my friends realize that how much I love them.

My wife entered in the room, she looks beautiful.
“YOU R BEAUTIFUL” I shouted.
She didn’t hear my words, in fact she never heard these words coz I never said this to her.

“GOD!!!!” I screamed… a little more time plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..
I cried…

One more chance please… to hug my child, to make my mom smile just once, to feel my dad proud on me at least for a moment, to say sorry to my friends for everything I have not given to them, and thanks for still being in my life….

Then I looked up and cried!!!!

I shouted….

“GOD!!!! ONE MORE CHANCE PLEASE!!!!”

"You shouted in your sleep," said my wife as she gently woke me up. "Did you have a nightmare?"

I was sleeping….
Ohh that was just a dream….

My wife was there… she can hear me…
This is the happiest moment of my life…
I hugged her and whispered…. “U R THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND CARING WIFE IN THIS UNIVERSE…. I REALLY LOVE U DEAR”

I can’t understand the reason of the smile on her face with some tears in her eyes, still I m happy…. J


“THANK YOU GOD FOR THIS SECOND? CHANCE.”

The countdown for the board exams has begun, and students are in the thick of their preparations. This is also boom time for the sales of memory-enhancing drugs as students believe these wonder drugs help sharpen their concentration and boost their memorising power.
While doctors are unsure whether these drugs actually help academic performance, they do affirm that the pills offer students psychological support. Dr Deepak Gupta, child and adolescent psychiatrist, says memory pills and syrups have a placebo effect, wherein the user feels better after taking these pills. “There has been a lot of discussion about these pills, but we cannot say for sure how they work. These pills have a placebo effect on the person who consumes them. He gets a sense of confidence that he will be able to remember everything. But there has been no scientific research done on these pills.”
Most chemists in the city affirm that demand for these pills shoot up during pre-exam days. Vaibhav Gupta, chemist in south Delhi, feels there isn’t enough awareness about these products. “Most students go in for Brahmi, Ashwagandha and Shankhpushpi. People don’t have any knowledge of exactly how these pills work and prove beneficial. They go in for them simply because they hear of others using them. It’s just word of mouth without any medical knowledge.”
Another chemist affirms that he’s had a lot of young customers coming to his shop asking for ayurvedic medicines which have a strong content of Brahmi.
Most students put in long hours of studying everyday, but fear that they might not be able to retain all that they have learnt.
Akshit Khanna, 17, puts in over 12 hours of studying daily for his board exams, but he is anxious, “I am putting in so much effort, but what if I forget all that I have studied?” This anxiety makes them turn to memory pills which promise to build a stronger power of retention.
Nutritionist Dr Shikha Sharma disagrees with the effectiveness of these pills.
She says, “Only pranayam helps in improving concentration quickly. During exam season, students should stick to a healthy diet and avoid stimulating foods like excess tea, coffee, colas and sugary items.”
Sneha Sharma found it impossible to get through her exams without taking memory-enhancing pills. “My father was worried as I refused to study if I hadn’t first taken a memory pill. It was only during exam-time that I took these pills. In hindsight, I now know that it must have solely been a psychological dependence, but at that time these pills gave me the much-needed confidence.”

How to stay focused
* Self-belief is very important. Remember, practise and hard work always give positive results.
* Indulge in positive self talk everyday.
* Take regular breaks while studying. Don’t study at a stretch for long hours.
* Whenever you feel tense, do breathing exercises, go for walks etc.
* Practise writing and solve sample papers.
* Good sleep and healthy diet is important. Drink tea/coffee in moderation.
* Revise difficult portions in the morning, as your mind is fresh.
* If you can’t remember something, try to visualise and associate it with a word.
